For those who dont know this 17 year old boy and his friends albert, Ludwig, franz paul lied about his age and said he was 18 when he was actually 17 so he joined the army behind his family's back and wanted to come back as a war hero but he didn't he got traumatized in war paul and his friends joined too but they all died Ludwig got blown up Franz got shot with a flame thower and Albert got crushed by a french tank so it was only paul left he was with fellow soldiers and his commander than they tried retreating and planes started shooting at them and he fell in a bomb crater when a French soilder yelled "surrender now" and he got blown into the ditch too but the French was fine but paul stabbed him and he was choking on his blood and paul got scared and backed away then he helped him until he died then paul cut his shirt open and pulled out his wallet to find he was a father Paul killed a father of a wife and daughter and paul felt like a monster and he countiued fighting in battle until he faught a French soilder and fell in a underground bunker and the he got up and they just stared at each other until Paul got stabbed in the back and hewas bleeding out and he went back up stairs and sat there in the french trench and he died right when the time hit 11:00 when the war stopped and he died hope this helped (also you should watch it it's a really good movie but sad though)
