@kitsune0video Maximus is actually a new technology that Nvidia is developing and it combines tesla & quadro gpu to make a lot faster computing power and it's not used only for 3ds Max but for other applications as well. Iray on the other hand is a render engine which uses the power of regular cuda GPUs. You can use Iray with any cuda enabled cards, but with this particular technology you can boost your workstation performance very much, but I'm sure this thing costs a lot. Hope I helped :)

Hey I have a NVIDIA K4200 and would like to maximize my rendering time.
I use vray as my renderer and for models, materials and lighting. Now how would i maximize the rendering performance. I tried changing it to Iray but errors obviously come up because everything in my project is vray. Can they both be used in conjunction? I would really appreciate the help. thanks

My father does use Solidworks so I know a bit of it.

how's this fair with vray? Is Iray the only one that uses GPU to render? I have always thought 3d render engines never really use GPU to render but the processor and RAM instead.
