I was so confused in the kitchen I’ve watched so many but this video was the only one that was helpful and I loved the demonstrations too

Great! It is important to understand that NVZ is a ground surface, and the three rules use the word "contact/touch" for the NVZ, not "enter" the NVZ. So it is legal that you can stand with your feet outside of NVZ and use your hand across the NVZ line to volley, as long as your hand or paddle does not touch the ground suface!

To be simple: "to volley, no touch!", that is it.

Wow - this is great! Just two faults you forgot to cover - if your shadow or your perspiration falls into the kitchen. Just kidding... (I am just kidding, right??) Thanks for the help! :)

Brilliant, very well filmed, good verbals, very well presented. One question, 'the fault', does the opposition get a point, or does the victim lose the serve?

This is THE BEST explanation. Thanks!

This was EXCELLENT. I've heard so many different versions of this rule and it is now clear! Gracias...

So, what happens when someone hits a very shallow serve, or volley that you have to run up for very quickly. You scoop it up, hit it over, and your momentum keeps you going of course. But you actually don't enter the kitchen until your 3rd or or 4th step. Does the momentum rule still apply and you lose the point?

Seriously thinking on creating a Laredo Texas chapter for senior citizens on Pickle Tennis. Love the simple rules, the inexpensive equipment and size courts.

If I have both feet outside the NVZ in contact with the court surface when I make a volley, how much time do I need to stand there before I can step into the NVZ after my volley shot? Or, how many seconds after I volley with both feet outside the NVZ must I wait before I can drop my sunglasses into the kitchen without fault?

We had a question on the court the other day. If your momentum brings you into the kitchen after you hit the ball but the ball already bounce on the other side is that a fault?

Great, thanx folks. Got it. Paddles and pickle on order.

Great video! Love the combination of explanation and demonstration! Should the person (potentially) committing the fault be the first to call themselves on it? It is so hard to do this from the other side of the net. Thank you for the details.

Could you also explain when forward momentum carries you into the kitchen after a legal volley. If you hit and take one or more steps before entering the NVZ, is the hit still legal?
