Hi just wanted to let y’all know I got a domestic ice machine in 2010 I clean it at sink by using vinegar like a coffee machine I also put vinegar in a spray bottle an spray while turning ice machine on & off to spray under the bin where water goes then l fill it with warm water run a few fill ups & dumps until no more black crud comes out, also keep plastic wire tie handy to slid in drain on outside to help the gunk drain out out then run a clean water & you have clean ice machine I do this once a month I was told by camping world my ice machine should have not lasted this long it is supposed to be a use a few years & through away & buy a new one. A soft cloth is a fine idea however it does not work well at all in cleaning the interior of the large white bowl, if you will. In fact you need a solution of vinegar and water, a new tooth brush to reach those difficult small corners, and removal of the top cover of the ice maker to properly clean it since the tray and surrounding surfaces will be very dirty. On mine, I was shocked to find scum on the sides of the white plastic surfaces where the freezing pipes are located and all around the inside of the container where one cannot normally reach. Thus taking the cover off is an absolute must, at least once per year if not more often. Be diligent, wash your hands before handling the tray or ice, filter your water to try and remove dirt particles. I use a Brita filter but there is still lots of
carbon particles that drop into the ice container, and this also contributes to dirty surfaces on the interior of the ice maker.

What this video fails to tell you about is how your supposed to clean the nasty residue that develops in the ice maker! It is nearly impossible to clean the area where the ice is actually made!

Really, this is basically useless. Like Joshua Blain said, we need to know how to clean the nasty mold build-up behind where the ice gets made. It's very hard to get into that area.
