About Bessie,
Elizabeth Budd-Graham, nicknamed "Bessie", is buried in Tallahassee's Old City Cemetery. Born in 1866 to David and Florence Wilson, and married Alexander Budd-Graham in 1887. She met Her death in 1889 at the age of 23, having left behind, her husband and two children.
Bessie's grave is the most visited plot in the cemetery. It's monument is covered with gifts and offerings, in hopes for blessings and protections. The epitaph on the stone includes her nickname, her husband's and parents' names. But also a famous verse from the poem, "Lenore", by Edger Allen Poe.

Only local legend says that Bessie was a witch. From the gossip spread by Townsfolk, that she bewitched a rich man into marrying her. Many say the fact that she was born in October, the month of the Witch, as proof for a propensity toward witchcraft.
