She doesn't answer my question, twiddling with her fingers. She's horrified, absolutely horrified. I can tell her voice is hoarse from the attempts of screaming, and I shudder at the things he would've done to her had I not been there. "You are, aren't you?" I question again. This time, she nods softly, curling her body into my chest. I can only imagine how afraid she is. Gently placing her in my car, I get in the driver's seat, looking over at her trembling form. I notice her ribs, her bruises, her cvts, but I don't say anything. Not yet, at least. I can't even ask her if she's okay. How could she be, after some guy just tried to 🍇 her? I'm not stupid. I know she's hurting. I also know that, at least from my sister's experience, she'll either cling to me for helping her or isolate. "Please hold me" she whispers, whenever we arrive, still shaking with fear. Of course, I do. We sit like that for a moment before I lift her once more and bring her inside, where my mother and father are by the door anxiously. I told them I heard screams in the school, and to wait for me. However, whenever my mom sees the crumpled and weak form in my arms, she runs to get a blanket, my dad following suit with tea. I softly cup my hands over her ears before speaking. "Pápa" I begin, causing him to look at me. "A man tried to hurt her- touch her. We need to fix it." He nods, understanding as my mom returns with a blanket. Oh, wait, did I mention we're more like a gang and these are my adopted parents? No?

I kind of hate this part. What do ya'll think though?
