Max has a degree (assuming masters) in Electrical Engineering and design.
Otto Octavius is has his doctorate in physics.
Peter is smart enough to rival someone with a PhD in whatever field Peter is best in.

And in a double whammy, Strange is not only the master of the mystic arts that specializes in all things supernatural but he's also still has his credentials and experience as a successful brain surgeon.
