My neighbor is a reseller. Her house looks like an episode of hoarders because she hasn't figured out the sell part of reseller yet.

I work at a Goodwill, and my job is to sort out and price the clothes that go out in the store. I put almost everything I get as regular price because I think everyone should get clothes at a reasonable price.

I wish resellers would get clothes marked up so they can feel what we feel. Not all of us can afford cute clothes, and when we find something, it's such a nice feeling. Sad to see people taking advantage of what would be good for the poorer end

I’m a huge vinyl collector and found a really, REALLY rare Beatles record at a Goodwill once. It was the “Butcher Cover” record which can sometimes be worth up to $25, 000. Basically nobody these days is into collecting old Beatles records so I didn’t think they’d recognize the true value. What made my chances better was that the person checking me out was a fellow teenager, so no way he would know what this is. I handed it to him for him to check out and he just stared at it, jaw open, and looked up at me and went “good find bro! Be careful with it.” I was amazed that he knew what it was and we got to talking, and now he’s a good friend😂

As a manager at a Goodwill, if you bring something up that's an incredibly expensive brand, unless you've actively switched tags around to get it cheaper, we have to give it to you no matter what retail is because we're the ones who let it slip and priced it so low. Goes for other stuff in the store too.

Man, there are people out there who can only get nice things through these kinds of stores and greedy people come along and take it away from them. It’s so cruel.

Yeah I stopped going to Goodwill after they started separating matching clothes and upselling them. I once helped a friend that donated a bunch of matching sets of toddler clothes(they were gifted to them by family members after the kid was out of that size range), completely together with the original tags for $7 to $10 a set, and the next day the shirts and the pants were separated with both being sold for $8 a peice. Absolutely revolting and such a sad thing for families who desperately need children clothes. This is why I only donate to local shelters.

At the thrift store where I worked, these would have never seen the floor, just be put in a bin with other upscale items and transfered to the boutique store

Clothes are never that cheap at any Goodwill I've been to.

Resellers deserve to get marked up prices f you guys because now I can’t walk into a damn thrift store without having to spend around 10-15 on one pair of pants, ONE PAIR

I’ve never experienced this in my life 😂 every thrift store I go into, the workers literally do not care about what you’re buying.

I got a $300 Calvin Klein knee length down feather puffer with the tags & replacement buttons still attached for $15 at good will and its the best coat 💜 it's exactly what I wanted because I cant tolerate cold well. I'm on disability and wouldn't have been able to buy a coat like that otherwise. (Edit to add) there was a reseller there when I bought it and she kept harrasing me to get the coat when she already had a cart full of name brand clothes 🙄

speaking as a former Goodwill employee that worked both as a cashier and a sorter. My district the backroom manager would literally "inspect" the rack of clothes you sorted and priced before they hit the salesfloor. If you sorted expensive brand products to go the floor to many times you would at best be removed from sorting line and got to be demoted to taking the donations at the back door. Lots of people would get fired though as they would accuse you of trying to steal from the company by saying you were doing it so your family and friend's could come in a buy it later. ALL expensive brands go straight to the e-commerce department to be sold online on their "e-bay page for auction" Goodwill is a for profit masking itself behind the "non-profit" label.

I saw a woman fill her cart with EVERY pair of shoes that were a dollar. Not looking at sizes or styles. She said they were going for $20 each at her store. She tried handing me some shoes so I wouldn't snitch. Took out some paten leather-heeled loafers, bought them, and snitched anyway. tf?

Thrift stores literally could care less about resellers though, and its illegal to change the price once its at the register. Either this is a joke reel that im missing or its an insanely over exaggerated one lmao
