Toyota Tundra 2025 review Australia

It has turbo-petrol V6 hybrid power, selectable 4x4 and a 10-speed automatic. And it's bloody huge.

But it costs a lot -- $155,990 plus on-road costs (AUD) -- meaning it plays against higher-spec alternatives from RAM, Ford and Chevrolet.

Is it worth the money? You'll make up your own mind after watching this review...

It's Absolutely perfect for me, except for one small problem, I can't afford it

$160'000+ for 2 weeks a year and astronomical fuel consumption, depreciation, insurance, maintenance, etc. the rest of the time?
It's like the arms race. He with the biggest truck wins.

The Tundra Limited in the USA is $54, 000 usd ($84k in Australian dollars). In OZ...$154k+ on roads. That's $74k for import costs, RHD conversion and profit. Ouch 😮

Bought a 2024 Silverado ZR2 and i love it. Suspension is so smooth on the roughest of roads and they done a better job with the interior and stereo controls easier to reach on the driver side. Done a great job with the conversion and the active exhaust sounds amazing with the 6.2 V8 brings a smile everytime i put the foot down and the exhaust note is a headturner😀

I recon if you’re in this market segment, maybe waiting for the Ford Super Duty. Speculators saying 4500t towing, GCM around 8000kg, 3.0 V6 from the Ranger with F150 running gear and hopefully sub $90k. 2026 👍

I would buy the Tundra if I had the money! No doubt the best UTE!

Did that one come with the metal shavings in the motor too?

The Tundra’s I looked at were high $170, 000.
Approximately 300kg heavier than F150.

how does converting them to a right-hand drive cost nearly AU$100, 000.00?
these sell for mid $50's to $60's in the US
how?

Not really manufactured for us with controls being set for the original market as in the USA.

IIHS safety rating is good enough for us. ANCAP is pretty useless.

Ah damn, it won't fit in my garage.

Walkinshaw have done a truly awful job at converting this. The infotainment and climate control mistakes are unacceptable for a car so effing expensive. Either that, or toyota just dont care enough and arent supporting walkinshaw like they should.

I'm in the market for a new 4x4 after owning a 100 series TD from new and was holding back to check out the new Tundra. Very disappointed. I'll look at the other options for the price or spend 50k and do up the 100 series. BTW excellent review thankyou

Excellent, now if only they would make the car spaces a big bigger to accommodate the size of such vehicles. (I wouldn't buy one, not practical for me unless I want to tow 3 caravans, LOL)

This is going to sell next to nothing here. Overpriced pos with known issues in that v6

Nearly ticks all the boxes, you would think they could easily change over the blinkers and wiper switches, from another right hand drive Toyota, info screen, with home one the left, would be annoying too, fuel economy, service costs and no road side assist, which you get on a cheap O Chinese vehicle, yes it a Toyota, but not as polished as the Toyotas I have owned and driver over many years, hopefully over time, they just put that little more effort into the finished product, and add some additional owner satisfaction/peace of mind for the high price point.

Like to see what's left with a Skippy park in front off it not much my guess

There's a lot of negative videos in the USA about all these cars. One after the other horror stories. Bad engines, poorly designed engines and idiotic plastic parts everywhere in the engine bay.
As for Toyota, there quality is reportedly getting as bad as everyone else.
