Why Samsung Could Be Falling Behind in the AI Race | Vantage with Palki Sharma

Samsung Electronics has issued a rare apology after announcing that its Q3 profit is expected to be $6.78 billion, lower than market expectations. The company is struggling to keep pace with rivals in the booming AI chip market, facing delays with major customers and increased competition from Chinese manufacturers. Analysts say Samsung’s late entry into AI chips leaves it more reliant on traditional, lower-margin chips, making it vulnerable. Palki Sharma breaks down Samsung’s challenges and what this means for the tech giant’s future.

Samsung consumer electronics is ahead in ai race then any smartphone company, it's the semiconductor business that is suffering to get better yields at cutting-edge nodes like 3nm which is necessary for ai boom. But it's nand business is still solid.

i used samsung before, i used it for almost 5 years without any technical issues...
The other company phones i am using now dont even last for 1 year.
who the hell will buy phones every year? i rather dont use one.
These phone company's should give 5 years warranty otherwise dont buy any phones.
if you cant use your gmail, and online accounts without a phone, THEN DONT USE THEM TOO.
Any electronic items you buy, make sure you get 5-10 years warranty.
if anything goes wrong, let them give free service during the warranty period.

Samsung is practically relying exclusively on Korean talent. Google literally gathers the best minds in every country. Its a dead end game for Samsung.

It is not the companies faults but because there are more things involved than just the phone. The software, the telecommunication equipments, and the militariy powers and seems like a smooth cooperation is require multinational multilateral compromise over security policies for all

Its all about "Exynos". Their Exynos processor is too much battery consuming that's why no one tries to buy Exynos based samsung phones. I am typing this on Exynos one but it's connected to charger most of the time.

Why can’t they add satellite features or better cloud storage or something that is actually usable?

Nokia and Samsung are mainly hardware manufacturers...no support of worldwide developers like in Google Playstore and Android, Apple App Store + iOS and Microsoft Windows OS.

Regular people ain’t really care about Ai because the Ai we have none doesn’t really offer anything beneficial. It’s like we slap Ai on everything to remove something from a picture we call Ai, generate images, etc those are stuff that been around for ever that’s not Ai even writing tools been around… it’s like the go to word to slap on everything now.

Correction: Invidia doesn't buy Samsung AI Chips, nvidia designs it's own chips and Samsung semiconductor (fab) makes the chips. TSMC does the same for nvidia

Better samsung shut down their exenos chip production. People don't trust exenos like they trust Snapdragon or dimensity.

I think they struggled to find new AI feature but can't find it for upcoming S25 phone.

It's not the AI that Samsung is struggling with. It's their semiconductor division which is suffering!
Samsung is not able to get good yield on their 3nm technology lagging behind TSMC!

90% of world's high end chips come from Tsmc and rest 10% comes from Samsung. Recently they have been investing more and more on fabs specially one in Texas. Today semiconductor market is somewhere around $650 billion . By 2034-35 it is expected to reach around $2 trillion. So in long run I don't think it will be a problem for Samsung.
