My husband just broke my heart. He doesn’t like hearing me sing around the house. I have an acceptable singing voice and God placed a song in my heart and on my lips. I always thought that somehow God was blessing him with the gift God gave me. He claims not.

I remember going through opiate withdrawals.A church was across the street where i lived for years, but i had no interest in ever going to it.After 4 days with restless legs, sweating, and vomiting, I went in there one morning.Some older lady sang this and looked at me the whole time with a warm smile.I started crying and suddenly the withdrawals went away.I started shaking and felt helpless yet relieved.My whole body trembled in there that day.I dont know what happened, but I never took a narcotic since that day.I didn't even have a craving anymore.I didn't go back to the church after that.But one thing was proven to me, and that's God is real.

This past August I lost my lifelong friend, he died suddenly from a stroke at 58 years old. We both met when we were 5 and have been friends ever since. Although our lives went in different directions we stayed friends throughout. Later in life he found the Lord and became a Pastor working with drug addicts and other troubled people. His transformation was amazing. His death has left a huge hole in my heart knowing my friend is gone. I carry his mass card with me on my wallet so I know he's close to me. Till we meet again Joe.

I remember Dr. Jack Mitchell leading us in this song during class at Multnomah School of Bible. We were in the auditorium at Cedar Mill Bible Church, Portland, Oregon. I've always loved this song. When I was first introduced to the Bible I was a young Christian, not even 1 year old in Christ. Today, I've been a Christian nearly 50 years. So many memories I need to take to the cross, so many.
