Watch Before You Buy A 2022 Honda Ridgeline

Introduced in 2006, the Honda Ridgeline has always been a unique pickup truck. Instead of the traditional body-on-frame construction with a solid-axle rear end, the Ridgeline adopted unibody construction with an independent rear suspension. While most midsize pickups offer cab-style, bed-length, and engine choices galore, the Ridgeline comes with a five-passenger crew cab body, all-wheel drive, and a single available engine. While it looks like a conventional midsize pickup, it drives differently. Competitive midsize trucks, such as the Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Frontier, Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, and Ford Ranger are very similar to each other in construction, capabilities, and looks. The Jeep Gladiator is another midsize truck that stands apart.

The Ridgeline is about 2 inches shorter than the shortest Tacoma and Colorado, and it's half an inch shorter than the crew-cab Ranger. Toyota offers a long-wheelbase Tacoma that is 15 inches longer than the Ridgeline. The Toyota, Chevy, GMC, and Nissan pickups present a variety of configurations that the Ridgeline doesn't match.

I bought a 22' RTL this June and have zero regrets. I came from a 13' WRX and about to be a parent. The Ridgeline is more than enough than what I'll even use it for. The cabin is roomy and comfortable enough for a family trip. The bed is nice to have for those trips to Lowe's. The towing is plenty enough for a pontoon boat down the road.

Yeah, but here’s the thing. Owners of the Ridgeline don’t care about five-year depreciation because they love them so much they hang onto them.

Most homeowners who buy a large truck only do so for looks. They rarely if ever tow more than 5000lbs or carry more than 1500lbs. Its the only Truck most homeowners need period. "Real" trucks are needed for those who run a business or tow very heavy loads.

I bought a '22 Black Edition. Didn't watch this before I bought, but it wouldn't have mattered. I drove it, my wife drove it, we liked it, we bought it. The end.

'Everyman Drive' excellent video! However, I been looking for one of these used and I can tell you there's none available anywhere near the used resale price you suggest. I suppose something has changed since this video was published. My pal has a 2019 Ridgeline and his dealer has been hounding him to 'sell' it to them. $27, 200 cash ... no kidding. He paid $35, 400 for it brand new. He's holding on to it as he loves the truck and after 4 years ownership he has not had a single problem. He loves it.

I have a 22 Ridgeline black edition. Came from a trd tundra pro. I absolutely love this truck and I’ve been a blind Toyota fanboy for years. I’m waiting for the anticipated Ridgeline type R model and I’ll trade my black edition in for that. I have no complaints with this truck and wish I found them sooner. I only use it for dirtbikes, 3 in the bed or trailer carrying 5 bikes. I at 6000k in Colorado and it’s very impressive in snow. Don’t have the clearance I had in the tundra but otherwise it’s stable, responsible and aggressive in snow. The Vtech is fun to drive and quick compared to the dated Tacoma engines. I actually had a 22 tundra in order but after test driving one alone the long list of issues I’m glad I cancelled and ended up in a Ridgeline!!

I’ve had 3 Ridgeline. I sold my 2019 Ridgeline for $3400 more than I paid for it. I bought a 2022 and got a $800 discount. Many standard features. I get 20 mpg city, 26 mpg highway. Your resale numbers are not real world.

I own a 2017 that I bought last year Certified and I absolutely love traded my 2006 Ridgeline in for it and made out really May not be a"truck" but I love it!!!!

Your depreciation numbers are WAY off in the current market. 2017 AWD RTL-T or better with less than 50k miles are still selling for 34, 000+. That’s only about 18-20% depreciation over 5 years!

Our 2006 Honda Pilot that has been in the family since 2011 has 325, 2XX miles on it at this moment. Original engine & transmission. It has always been very well maintained. And that is one of the "years to avoid" models. Honda builds good stuff. Great vid dude!

I really dig the ridgeline. Especially that it is more manageable in tight parking lots than a half ton but can fit kids car seats better than the other midsize trucks

One of the best, straight forward reviews I have seen on YT so far. Well done.

I purchased a 2021 Honda Ridgeline RTL-E in Radiant Red Metallic and a beautiful black leather interior. The handling and ride quality is outstanding! The in-bed trunk is smart and the dual action tailgate is so convenient! Love the in-bed audio while I’m playing outside. Totally 100% satisfied.

Thank you! Absolutely the best summarized Honda Ridgeline review that I have seen to date on YouTube and I have seen plenty!

Ridgelines are great highway cruisers unlike Tacomas which tend to sway down the highway at high speeds. I driven both and the Ridgeline rides much better. However if you do alot of off road driving the Tacoma would be better. Dealers in my area selling Hondas at MSRP. Ridgelines keep their values.. I can't find a used Ridgeline at a decent price.

Just bought an rtl-e, will be built next month. I'm coming from a 2017 tacoma. Time for something with a better ride and higher tech. I only use the bed for Costco runs and other bulky items for the family. No need for off roading. Ground height is lowered so might do worse in heavy snow, but we're seeing less and less heavy snowfall around here over the past few years

Take a look at some of the more off road centric car review channels. They were pleasantly surprised by the offroad capabilities of the Ridgeline. Honda's i-VTM4 system is no slouch.

I like these suburban trucks they’re very comfortable, affordable and reliable, I’m a Pilot owner this is very similar with added small bed, I couldn’t do those Gold wheels though
