My dad was an MD, and he told me about a patient of his who was FURIOUS with her young son's teacher. On a test, there was a picture of a car with the question, "What is this?" Her son was fascinated with cars. Instead of answering "car", this boy answered with the make, model and year. The teacher marked the boy's answer wrong even though he gave the most accurate answer of anyone in the class!

If teachers want more specific answers, they should have more specific questions. Most everything on here is a technically correct answer

One time in 9th grade, our history teacher gave us a test. The instructions said, “write your name on the test and turn it in.” It was a test to see if people actually read the instructions. I followed the instructions while nearly all of the other students sat there an answered the questions.
