Classic Game Room HD reviews the Sega Dreamcast video game console released on 9/9/99! One of the many days that the world was supposed to end was actually a day to celebrate because the Sega Dreamcast was released and it promised to change the world! Sadly, 2 years later support had dwindled and popular support was pulled. How is it that one of the greatest video game systems in history could suffer such a short lifespan? Well, collecting a Sega Dreamcast and a library of awesome games has never been easier or more affordable. Filmed on the 10 year anniversary of the North American release of the Dreamcast, CGR takes a look at the awesome white box with the orange swirl. Fans of arcade titles, shooters and Sega classics should definitely consider a Dreamcast as a contender for their next game system. Controllers, cords and memory cards are easy to come by and classics like Shenmue, Sega GT, Sea Man, Giga Wing and Chu Chu Rocket (DC version) are only available on the Sega Dreamcast. There are more than 600 games released for the system, including many that saw a sub-par release on the PS1 like Soul Reaver. The Dreamcast is literally on sale these days thanks to eBay and the fact that it is now a decade old.

The Dreamcast was Without doubt the most fun I've ever had with any console. Had so many great games for it back in the days. Was a very sad day when Sega gave up on it. So many great memories. Soul calibur. Shenmue. Power stone. Trickstyle...Yep trickstyle! :-) was one of the early games. Had some excellent soundtracks. And played well too.

This is an awesome video game console. I've never had the Dreamcast, and I still don't, but this review is still fun to watch.

That keyboard looks like something for Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME and XP. You can also use a keyboard on a Nintendo Wii, except you'll just have to barrow a USB 2.0 keyboard from your computer or in your backup computer accessory collection.

It's pretty funny hearing about the year 1999 and 9.9.99. I just got a Sega Dreamcast with a couple of controllers at a thrift store for $19.99 and it works great. So many nines.

Know Im probably speaking to the nostalgia crowd with this, but damn I feel old with this one. Saw the videos were coming out again and had to come back to this one since it was stuck in my mind. Literally remember watching this after football practice when it came out since I had been watching you for a year at this point when I discovered YouTube. Grew up off N64 and always loved classic games, along with the modern game reviews at the time when it was pioneer territory. Brings me back to that time. Was waiting for ODST and MW2 to come out, and these videos always helped me pass the time as a 14 year old. Truly miss this age of YouTube, but for how this website and the world as a whole is now, that magic will probably never be brought back. Keep on trucking brother. At least you have your Sega Saturn now.
