Classic Game Room HD - DAYTONA USA for Sega Saturn

Classic Game Room HD reviews DAYTONA USA for the Sega Saturn video game console. DAYTONAAAAAAAAAA, YEAH! This Sega produced arcade driving racing game was released originally in 1994 as a coin-op machine and saw its debut on the Sega Saturn as a launch title in 1995. It is an arcade racing game, not a simulation game like Gran Turismo 5 or Ferrari Challenge. Drive one of one stock car looking cars around several different tracks. Daytona USA may not have much in the way of heavy hitting graphics but it does have awesome, fun gameplay and terrific replay value. The music is insane and reminds CGRHD or BWP (Bitches with Problems) the all girl rap act from the late 80's. Rock out to the music and drive like a maniac in Daytona USA from Sega! This Daytona USA review has gameplay footage from the game showing the racing driving and pop-in with the graphics. Sega later released an enhanced version of Daytona on the Saturn. Classic Game Room HD is your source for Sega Saturn reviews and CGRHD is a Sega Saturn reviewer reviewing Sega Saturn games like Daytona USA, Radiant Silvergun and Panzer Dragoon reviews (soon... well, someday.)

Revisiting a lot of these CGR vids. So good, funny, and now scarily nostalgic. Thanks for all of them.

The lyrics in the song at the beginning speak to me at a spiritual level...

Oh man, Saturn/Dreamcast era Sega had the most amazing music. So bad it's brilliant.

Despite only watching CGR only a few times when I was younger I can remember the intro by heart

I have always liked how calm your voice is! Its nice to wake up and catch this before the busy day starts!

You by far are one of the best reviewers on the net and T.V, keep up the good work my friend!

Even though it always caught flak for its rough graphics, heavy pop-in and 20fps frame rate, Daytona USA has stellar, magnificent gameplay. The car handling, the steering, the aggressive computer cars, the spectacular track designs -- you'll be hard pressed to find a better arcade racer. And don't forget the horses!

If i ever get rich, i'm going to buy so many arcade racing games and put them all in one room such as this and fnf.

they used to have the arcade version of this game at an old video store I used to frequent when I was little. (yes, when you had to rent vhs tapes from a fucking store. so archaic.) Every time you walked in the front door you were greeted by seeing this video made me pine for the early 90s again. thank you for this nostalgic experience LK :)

The Dreamcast sequel is incredible, forget the port to the PS3/360, Daytona on the DC is beautiful and quick, and hard!

The music of this game isn't awful: it's so amazing that it's mindblowing.

1:10 the great _Takenobu Mitsuyoshi_ of SEGA sang ALL of the vocals himself.

Takenobu Mitsuyoshi was the composer of this game, and yes, it is the same guy who did "GAME OVER YEEEAH!" from SEGA Rally. He's still in the industry, performing as part of SEGA Sound Team's official band, H. and contributing to various soundtracks like Virtua Fighter 5 and Bayonetta.

He's also one of my favorite game composers ever, mostly because of this game.

The guys who do Sega's music must be huge Pat Methany fans, particularly his bossa nova influenced stuff from the 80s. If you can even slightly appreciate Daytona's music, check out the album "Still Life (Talking)." It's excellent, and so out of vogue that you can pic it up on vinyl in mint condition for practically nothing.

when I was in high school, i worked at Tilt, an arcade chain in the midwest. the arcade cabinet for this damn game faced the redemption counter where i spent most of my time. the music was like a drill, boring into my head, slicing through my eardrums and brain, 4-6 hours a day. 8 hours if i was really unlucky. i'm shivering.

Seriously, the theme song has to be one of the best moments of my childhood in the mid 90s. On another note I bet there's an asshole out there that's singing smh
