Overall opinion, my contribution: Hey Nathie, I am a VR virgin, and never really experienced true VR, I understand some of the negativity the rift S is already getting by some rift owners, but i think if you haven't tried it first you should not judge too soon, however i am not in the mindset of owning a rift, so to me as someone who is new to VR, I got my PC ready for VR a long time ago, but i was in a long doubt between Vive and Rift, and my main concerns were the small and weird room layout in which i need to set up the sensors., Then we heard the news of project sansar, which is now the quest, i awaited with buying VR because i was curious about this project sansar, So then again the quest was revealed, and i thought wow i rather go for something like that! ... and then.... Oculus threw Rift S in our face, and since i really wanted VR for my PC, which i spend a large amount of money on getting ready for VR, i now made my choice, the Rift S will be my first VR headset.

I think it be a great headset for people new to VR that have a pc that can run VR, and the quest will be awesome for people that are new to VR that do not have a PC that is VR ready.

The thing is, the prices are great, and if a lot of new people step into VR like me, the company gets funded, and this helps in development for the VR enthusiast like you to see future VR headset tech.

I own this headset and I can honestly say it was money well spent. It's been super fun is extremely responsive. I expected it to be more finnicky but it pretty much always behaves exactly as it should.

Love my Rift S! Completely self contained(NO external sensors to setup.) Hands down best purchase I"ve made for computer gaming. I intentionally bought it for iRacing but have quickly started to discover other VR games and worlds!

i feel like the rift s is not aimed at current rift owners. while my inner vr nerd wants to get the S the logical part of my brain says keep the cv1 and buy knuckles or something else like a vive or a quest that has the possibility of providing something new
