I have to say the technology is pretty impressive... amazing how far they have come, and I guess they will only get better as the system learns more and more

Super important words people need to learn.
- FSD (full self driving)
- Autopilot (is assistance, can only be used on highways, not in cities were you have people walking, street lights etc) airplains also use autopilot.
- Geofencing (public electric kickbikes for rent are locked to a region based on gps), bmw, mercedes, etc are also geofenced self driving cars.
- Programmed path (buss in Norway are programmed path)

Yep, it's going to be a good future. I can even tell that in my 2022 Toyota with Lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.

I think the amazing thing about this technology isn't what it's doing now, but how far it came in just a few years and where it will be in another few years.

It definitely seems like they are the top of the automation race at the moment. Automated taxis, delivery, truck driving, etc. It's coming.

The strikes must have originated from the Tesla legal staff. They don’t want someone suing Tesla and blaming the self-driving mechanism when it’s driver carelessness. The five strikes is their way of determining who is responsible enough to keep using the self-driving function.

I’m not sure what the benefit is if you need to oversee the whole thing. I would not pay for the self driving with all the limitations. There are so many scenarios that people make random moves. I wouldn’t want the liability leaving it up to the car.

The shape of the steering "wheel" actually transmits insecurity and hesitancy. If it was 100% round it would look like the car was deciding effortless because our eyes would not see the movement of those indecisions. Major design flaw for a self driving car imo.

Tesla’s FSD safety rules ensure they aren’t blocked by gov./competition. Caution ensures Tesla can complete FSD development.

My friend if you go with 200kph in city street and crush on things, paid or not for the car police will confiscate it from you as well as your drivers license. So the 5 strikes removal of autopilot, (a tool that is dangerous in a bad driver's hands) is perfectly fine and acceptable punishment!
