and yeah I forget to connect observer and piston with 4 redstone dust So you have to connect the Observer and piston and this is important for automatic your sugarcane farm

For saving resources you can put observers after 2-3 blocks also but don't put too much far

This works up to the latest version, but you have to put red stone behind the observers.

it works for java 1.20.4, but you gotta add a redstone (dust) clock behind the hoppers
