Is This The WORST Budget Monitor? | SmallHD Action 5

Its unfortunate when a product doesn't meet your standards, but at least it can give a starting point to move up from.

Feel you, bro. Bought the Action 5 and exposure sucks really bad. Color accuracy is not too bad (although is the worst I've worked) but exposure is really far away and it's incredible that the False Color is not a tool you can use it cause everything looks overexpose when it's not.
I couldn't send it back to SmallHD because the delivery (to and back) wouldn't be cheap to the US (since I'm outside US) and I think they discontinued it, btw.
Also I order a SmallHD bundle and one of the baterry came bad, it won't least 15 minutes, although I know this monitor runs out of batteries fast.

Anyhow, what I could do is to create myself a False Color LUT that works properly with my camera. It hasen't been easy but I think I'm getting some good results. Then I would like to make another LUT that looks more LOG accurate and maybe another LUT that looks as a REC709 lut.

I was ready to buy the SmallHD Action 5 but now I'm not sure what to get to put on top of my Canon 5D Mark IV. Any recommendations?

I do use it and it's good, I just adjusted luts to te monitor to have it same as on camera's screen, it's handy with quick easy access to most needed options.

I'm considering taking your advice and going for the Cine 5, but was wondering if you've considered just using your iPhone with SeeMo pro or know anyone who has? It seems like a better option than a lot of the monitors out there.

This is $125 and is more color accurate and the battery last all day. FEELWORLD FW568 V3 6 inch, I have this monitor and I like it better than my Atoms Ninja V. You know I think Gerald Undone uses the Small Had monitor, I have seen it in his videos, and you should ask him what he thinks. The only way you’re going to get a little more accuracy is with an is monitor.
