UW pauses to recognize those with military service

The University of Washington's annual Veterans Day ceremony, held Nov. 11 at the Medal of Honor Memorial near Red Square, featured music by the Husky Marching Band and a formation of UW Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) cadets.

UW alum Dave Stone, a U.S. Army veteran, was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Veteran award.

UW sophomore and veteran Alden Lumpkin, a real estate major, was recognized for his service in the U.S. Marine Corps and academic excellence in his studies with the Commandant of the Marine Corps trophy.
