Solid advise. I always face away from the mirror. A. I know what my squat by feel and can tell if it's high. B. Like he said, no mirrors in a comp. I get set, take my breath, and focus on nothing but my form.

Squatting without a mirror is 100% helpful. You’ll know how hitting depth feels like as opposed to relying on the mirror which more than likely has an angle that may not be the best to capture depth. In doubt, take a video of your squat and assess after the session.

I stopped using a mirror a year ago and I think it helped a lot with my squat form.

now I will admit there is a mirror in front of me at the gym I'm in but I really don't look into it I used to try to help me find depth but it really didn't help because when I re-watched videos I was high and every time I feel like I hit depth and got low enough and watch a video not even close I'm not stupidly high but usually guesstimation anywhere from 4 to 6 inches I would say and it's very irritating I'm not psyching myself out of going deeper I just always seem to feel like I hit depth and if I happen to videotape it which I don't do all the time I always seem to be a little bit high🤦‍♂️

I've never if ever lifted frequently in a mirror. It just feels weird seeing yourself during a lift
