Best home refillable co2 kit (step-by-step review and tutorial 2021)

Today we will set-up a new all-in-one CO2 kit made by Colombo. The best thing about this kit is that you can refill the co2 AT HOME using simple and cheap components (around £4 per refill!!!). Just add two components and add water, its that simple. Best of all, included is a nice bubble counter and solenoid valve so you can turn off the CO2 at night.

Brilliant video! This is causing me a bit of a dilemma, I'm going to set up a co2 system for my 100l and I've been looking at several options and suppliers of equipment, it seems that there are people with good and bad reviews for all the main suppliers, mainly regarding regulators and solenoids and as these are expensive bits of equipment you don't want to have them going wrong.

Now this looks like a really easy, foolproof setup, no dangerous high pressure cylinders, just one gauge to keep an eye on and you could store a good supply of chemicals for when it runs out and needs restarting.

It appears to be a good option for someone like me who suffers from technophobia and doesn't feel confident setting up a high pressure system, and it does seem to be a big step up from the usual DIY kit, also the price should reflect the quality as it costs virtually the same as Colombo's big co2 set up!

Thank you for this excellent video, I would be interested in a follow-up in a while to see how it performs over the next few weeks.

Hi thanks for the video. Should there be an o-ring in the cap for the bubble counter? I mean the but you unscrew in order to fill it with water? I have air leaking from there but I can't see any damage. Thanks!
