Just beautiful! Brought me to tears! Ironically on the feast day of the Assumption of the blessed Mother, the Atlantic writes the rosary is evil!

She feels our sins and this bring her to tears. She constantly wants us to pray and repent! Our Lady of the Assumption Pray for us! Happy feast Day of Our Lady of the Assumption. I have wondered about that question. That’s a good insight, makes it easier to understand.

As a child I had been told that Mary’s body had been placed in the tomb. But a short time thereafter an apostle arrived who had not been present at her death (or when she ‘fell asleep’ for the last time). He asked to view the body. When the stone was rolled back there was no body but only flowers where she had lain, although the tomb had been watched over. The apostles understood that her body had been taken into heaven by God. The nun who told us said it was in some early writings from apostolic times.

The lack of devotion, coldness and even, sometimes, up-front attacks of Bergoglio against the Most Holy Mother of God (calling the Marian dogmas "tonteras in Spanish =foolishness", and refusing to consecrate Russia " we will not discuss Fatima", etc, ) says a lot about the true nature of this papacy .

Dr. Marshall, you are correct, the Holy One Catholic and Apsotolic Church holds it incipiently, in the Liturugy of the Byzantine Rite, and also elsewhere. "Through the intercessions of the Theotokos, Savior save us."

Similar to dying from a broken heart.
The sorrow is so deep that the heart is physiologically affected and eventually causes death. Our Lady's suffering is, of course, second only to Our Lord's. The depth of her sorrow, seeing her Son, also her Creator and Redeemer, dying an excruciatingly painful death on the cross, is more than can be conprehended. Our sorrows, great as they may be, cannot compare.

I just watched a video now about how the doctrine came about :

“I was Assumed into Heaven by my Son and the Angels.”
Just outside the Walls of Rome across the street from where St. Paul is believed to have been martyred there is a beautiful grotto and Shrine dedicated to Our Lady of Revelation. In the Spring of April 1947, Our Lady appeared to a Protestant man named Bruno Cornacchiola who was looking for a quiet place to practice is speech “Mary Is Neither Ever Virgin Nor Immaculate.” Mary appeared wearing a long green mantle, a pink sash, and a white dress.

She spoke to Bruno, “I am the Virgin of Revelation. You persecute me. Enough now. Return to the Holy Fold of on Earth (the Catholic Church).

Later she added: “My body could not and did not decay. I was assumed into Heaven by my Son and the angels.” The Blessed Mother also gave  Bruno a special message for the Holy Father himself, “You must go to the Holy Father, the Pope, the Supreme Pastor of Christianity, and personally tell him my message. Bring it to his attention. I shall tell you how to recognize the one who will accompany you to see the Pope.” 

Two years after the apparition, Bruno was able to personally deliver this message to the Pope. It is said that this message was an impetus to Pope Pius XII declaring the Dogma of the Assumption in 1950. It is interesting to note that Our Lady told Bruno that her body “could not” and “did not decay.” Our Lady, the Immaculate Conception, was pure and without corruption. Her body was taken into heaven because to  be honored by all Creation.

Great video and explanation on the Assumption of Our Blessed Mother! This is a great apostolic tradition! It was a no brainer to make her assumption dogma of the church! I also agree that St Joseph was also bodily assumed into heaven!

I had a thought some years ago while looking at the stain glass windows which show the 15 mysteries of the Rosary. And I thought to myself that Jesus and Mary, being outside time and space, are always in every moment, so I can pray to pregnant Mary, or Mary at the Cross, or the Queen of Heaven, and she will be where she is needed. And kids can be encouraged to pray to young Jesus, and I can pray to Jesus at the house of Mary and Martha, or to Jesus on the cross, or to the Father, or to the Holy Spirit, and he will be there. Which a long way of saying that your advisor had some wisdom in his answer

Please explain how/why you see, as beautiful, the suffering of Blessed Virgin Mother Mary.

It makes sense that she would be bodily in heaven....I heard a few years ago that science has found that every mother's body will forever contain cells of each of her children, and each child will forever contain some of their mother's cells. If Mary's body was still containing some cells of the body of Christ, the Lord would not let Him decay.

On 1 May 1950 Gilles Bouhours (a marian seer) reported to Pius XII a presumed message that the Virgin Mary would have ordered him to communicate to the pope on the dogma of the Assumption of the Holy Virgin Mary.

I think there is a custom in some Byzantine Parishes for the Laity to receive blessed roses to put on the graves of our loved ones.
