What saved me was the "multiplying 3/7 by 7/7 is the same as multiplying 3/7 by 1. 7/7 = 1." that put everything into perspective because I couldn't get past how irrational it seemed to perform that step. I already learned that 7/7 is 1, 2/2 is 1 and so forth, but after learning so many steps in a new type of math, I forget old rules, as I'm sure others do as well.
