Branch Basics, as a laundry detergent, is closer to snake oil than it is to a product you should ever use to clean your clothing. However, it's a great example of how well water cleans your clothing!

That's mostly due to a severe lack of ingredient concentration in their product. When I tested it, I started by following their 'laundry formula', which is about 1:1 water to concentrate. When those results baffled me, I used the concentrate straight up and it was on par with water.

Plus it's price tag is incredibly disappointing. If you use the concentrate straight up it's about $1.60 / load, if you follow their formula, it's about $.75/load. Keep in mind the average high performance product is about $.20/load making it 4x to 8x more expensive.

While the company's mission is, "to help people create healthy homes and experience the power of pure", the product falls miles short. There is no other product on the market that I RECOMMEND LESS than Branch Basics laundry detergent.

If you're looking for some 'clean' plant based detergents that perform well I recommend 7th Gen Ez dose or Ingredients Matters.

Seventh generation easy dose was not something I thought I was going to like when I first seen it. I had a coupon and decided to try it, yea overall how easy to use, the concentrate detergent works well, eco friendly option, and workable in a budget-I would definitely buy again now! The squeezing aspect wasn’t as odd and it’s a small enough bottle that it doesn’t feel heavy.
