You can leave them unscrewed. The only risk is pushing them when under deep water. The nut on the pusher is just there as a doorstop. It DOES NOT contribute to waterproofing the case.

Have one, I cook and want to use it for timing, I unscrew, I forget, I go to the pool, freak out because it is unscrewed. Still waterproof but I really don't see what's the point of it' I agree it's a pain.

The pushers are meant to be unscrewed, and only screwed in when the watch is in water.The screw down pushers dont provide better water resistance, they just keep the pushers from getting pushed accidentally when underwater.

It's for water resistance if you're using the chronograph that often you don't have to screw them back you only screw them down when you're not using it which for most people would be the majority of the time time

Frankensteined together this watch. Bought the watch only got an after market band then bought an authentic clasp off eBay. A feeling like no other when I wear it out
