Lucy Liu and Jonny Lee Miller on fifth season of 'Elementary'

Before Lucy Liu and Jonny Lee Miller were co-stars on "Elementary," she was one of Charlie's Angels, and he was a young computer geek in "Hackers." In "Elementary," Miller portrays a modern-day Sherlock Holmes, and Liu plays Dr. Joan Watson in the crime-solving drama. The actors join "CBS This Morning" to discuss the fifth season of the show.

I'm completely addicted to Elementary. I've watched most of the episodes half a dozen times. I've never really been a fan of Sherlock Holmes in other movies, but this series is just fantastic. I think most of that is the relationship between these two and the intelligence of the writing.

Almost done with the last season and just seeing this interview for the first time. Lucy hit the nail on the head with what she said about Sherlock being uncomfortable around women. In the books, he was well-mannered and polite toward women and treated them with kindness and respect, but in his private opinion he was suspicious of them and believed that they were deceitful and untrustworthy, as if every member of the opposite sex had an ulterior motive. Jonny does a brilliant job of illustrating this in his performance.

I just miss them and this show! Elementary is like my comfort show. I’ve watched the whole show probably three times. Johnny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu are just so freaking awesome, want to see more of them and also more of them as a team! I loved how they sticked to their platonic relationship. It’s pretty rare that the two main protagonists don’t end up together and that’s why this is a very welcome change!!

The respect, trust and admiration the characters have for each other is all that matters. I honestly believe they do love each other, just not in a romantic way, and that's even more powerful to me. Kind of reminds me of Mulder and Scully (before their romance, obviously - even though there always was an attraction between M&S that is not there in "Elementary"). Love the chemistry between Jonny and Lucy, and they are tremendous actors. Wonderful team, on and off screen!

I discovered Elementary in 2013. I loved the BBC Sherlock too -- and out of curiosity I checked out the first episode of Elementary. And I was amazed. I was suddenly in love with Jonny Lee Miller (whom I had never heard of before then).
Here I am 5 years later and I had already forgotten how annoying the final season of BBC Sherlock was. But Elementary's Sherlock and Watson STILL GOT ME HOOKED EACH WEEK. LOVE THEM, LOVE THE EVOLUTION OF JOAN WATSON. Love Jonny Lee Miller ♡ and Lucy Liu.
