Commenting to clarify that a “flight” is a restaurant term: a flight is an order of samplings or tastings of selected beverages or food items that is served on a wooden board or in a specially designed carrier

I'm glad you actually mixed the yolks with the mayo and salt and pepper because watching those videos I kept wishing they would. The texture of the filling of a devilled egg vs just a regular hard boiled egg yolk makes such a big difference I think. I think leaving the mustard out made sense too - some of the videos I was cringing at the thought of mustard and some of the other toppings. These look great! I wonder how it would be with dividing the egg filling into a handful of little bowls and mixing the cream cheese, ranch or sauces into the filling itself. The tater tot is such a great idea for a loaded baked potato version. I feel like I would've eaten those by the dozen as a kid! It definitely seems like it could be wasteful depending on how you do it, but I think your devilled egg bar or doing it for a party would be a great way to try this. Everyone could bring a few toppings they think might be good and everyone could try each others options.

I’m so glad you didn’t feel pressured to go out and buy speciality food items or items you don’t normally stock. My older sister recently moved in with me and she has a lot of ideas, suggestions, and printed recipes for “fancy foods” that may require 1 teaspoon of 4-6 spices I don’t stock. I just keep telling her no. I do all the meal planning, shopping, cooking, and most dishes. I cook fives nights a week with two nights for planned overs. Recipes include ground beef, chicken, pork, fish and brinner. I rotate through potatoes, pasta and rice. Simple but good food. I appreciate all your Dollar Tree dinners and I’m thankful I don’t live in a grocery store desert.

I like how you’re willing to try something new but also think about cost.

Interesting! Last year, I went to a restaurant near San Jose CA called "Flights, " which featured flights of cocktails (as usually presented, I think) and things like flights of appetizers, flights of slider burgers, and flights of chicken wings. As someone who loves buffets because I love to eat little bits of this and that when I go out to eat. Eggs seem like a great vehicle for flights, since you can do a ton of different things with them without expensive ingredients. I bet flights of finger sandwiches or pizza bites or something would be fun to do, and easy.

In this circumstance- going to a grocery store with a salad bar might actually be cost saving. If I sent to Whole Foods, I could get a few little bits of things for probably 1-2 dollars, a teaspoon of chicken salad, a two slivers of red pepper, a single piece of bacon etc.

I appreciate that your egg ideas are not copied from everyone else. Much more creative

I think this could be a fun party snack idea if all your friends got together and everyone brought like a different type of egg like a cookie swap but savory and it would mean people were only buying ingredients for one type but everyone gets to try everything

I'm allergic to chicken as a side effect of gastric bypass. The thing I miss most of all is Buffalo wings, so i make Buffalo deviled eggs or egg salad quite often. I add Buffalo sauce, blue cheese crumbles and serve with celery. I often bump up my protein by adding cottage cheese, but that's extra. My daughter also likes Caesar salads, so I have made deviled eggs with Caesar dressing in place of the mayo, sprinkled with parmesan and topped with toasted breadcrumbs. The Buffalo sauce (Otts is milder than Frank's red hot), Caesar dressing (Newman's Own is my favorite), and blue cheese crumbles are things we keep as staples because we use them often.

My family loves deviled eggs so each holiday I make several kinds like buffalo blue cheese, a Cajun with shrimp, capper and salmon, and many more. It all depends on what I have on hand as to which ones I make each time.

Tbh this looks like a really neat way to use up like pantry leftovers, at least certain types of pantry leftovers, like you know how sometimes you end up with like 2 pickles left in a jar, or like half a teaspoon of sauce at the bottom of a bottle, that kind of thing ^^

I had people look at me weird when I suggested putting bacon on deviled eggs. Now there's a whole trend. I was ahead of my time. 😂

This was a fun video! I love it when you do appetizers! I think it's a common thing to be asked to bring to a lot of parties and sometimes when someone is on a strict budget, it's hard to find recipe ideas that don't require having to buy a bunch of ingredients!

This would be a great idea to serve around Easter after the kids make a bunch of Easter eggs!

I was making eggs like this 15 years ago to take to our work potlucks. Back then I used shrimp to make an old bay and shrimp egg, I also made shredded chicken bacon ranch eggs and ham and green olive eggs as well as fake crab, old bay, cream cheese and chives eggs. A lot of people at work really liked them but some people thought they were weird so the 2nd time I also made some regular deviled eggs with paprika sprinkled on top and everyone was happy. There were no leftovers either time. I think at a pot luck if you have nothing left over that's a success.

I think an egg flight would be a fun party appetizer, especially if deviled eggs are already a staple in your party setup. Plus you might have extra ingredients on hand for special occasion foods that you could incorporate with the eggs.

I love that you make do with what you have by picking out the corn in the mixed veg. My kind of cooking.

It's a fun little food trend! A little effort goes a long way in increasing how much you will enjoy your food. I made my own egg flight the other day and used cottage cheese instead of mayo :)
