Looks delish! Actually, capers are the green, unripened flower buds of the caper bush, also known as Flinders rose. A juniper berry is the female seed cone produced by the various species of junipers.

Emmy, I LOVE your channel all the time. I do want to let you know that capers and juniper berries are not the same thing. Capers are the closed flower bud of a bush (Capparis spinosa). The buds will develop into fruits the size of an olive (the caper berry) if not harvested when small. Both caper (buds) and the caper berry are pickled and eaten and they have a similar flavor.

Juniper berries are the seeds of juniper evergreen trees and are used to flavor gin. When dried, they are used as a spice in Scandinavian cooking.

Hope this helps with your further trying and tasting adventures.

I love that your channel has grown and changed, but I love that you didn’t hire an entire production team to film you and have your videos just be another content creator wanting to make millions a year. Breath of fresh air. My Husband appreciates your videos too.

I completely agree that we need to teach our kids to cook. Good job making your kids responsible for their own breakfast. I'm sure that it is all age appropriate. As they get older, they can learn harder things. Keep up the good work, Emmy.

Marylander here: try some Old Bay on your deviled eggs next time! Everyone here does it and it’s all the rage! 🦀 it’s also a beautiful color to add to the yolks if you make them the traditional way where you scoop the yolks out and pipe them back in with a piping bag. ❤

I always had issues making hard boiled eggs that would easily peel UNTIL I tried your method. The eggs cook perfectly every time(13mins) and if I crack the egg shell all the way around and give a slight twist the shell slips off in 2 big pieces. Thank you so much for sharing this method 🎉🤗

The most decadent eggs I have had - Deviled Eggs with Bacon and Caviar. The bacon was crumpled into bits and put in with the egg yolks then once the eggs were stuffed, caviar was put on top. Divine! And it was my first taste of caviar.

Emmy, love you, but capers are not juniper berries! They’re totally different plants!

That's two recent videos where you have mislabeled capers as juniper berries. They are completely different. They are the bud of the caper flower

I like the amount of mayo you used. Some people use a like ridiculous amount of mayo

One suggestion: salt the water when you're boiling eggs in the shell; osmotic pressure will draw some of the salt content into the egg. And you can add a _lot_ of salt, a lot more than pasta water, because they won't saturate like pasta can.

Also, an alternative method for boiled eggs: when I boil eggs in the shell, whether I'm going for soft or hard, I always start with cold water and add in cold eggs before I even turn on the burner. This makes it much less likely for the eggshells to crack during cooking, because cold eggs going into boiling water causes a thermal shock to the eggshell, which can cause it to crack no matter how gingerly you put them in. It's especially likely to happen to the first one you add, because each cold egg going into the water will cool it. Anyway, once the water hits a rolling boil, I turn off the burner, and leave them to finish cooking in residual heat; I modulate the hardness by changing how long I'll leave them there before I put them in cold water to stop cooking. It'll take some experimentation to nail it down for your particular range or stove; also, I developed this technique on electric ranges, and I suspect that you might need to leave a gas or induction range on low heat to finish cooking, depending on the pan or pot you're using and how much heat it retains.

This looks good! A friend’s German mom taught me to scoop chopped hard boiled egg up and have it with salt n vinegar potato chips. I add chives now and it’s soooo good❤
