John sits down with Night Vision guru Sam Houston to discuss common misconceptions about Night Vision and ways you can save yourself from spending money on the wrong stuff. Topics include white phosphor vs. green, night vision accessories, and the pros and cons of different setups, ex: monocular, binocular, articulating binoculars, etc.

VIDEO SPONSOR

Sam has an extensive background with the technical side of building NVGs as well as using, maintaining, and purchasing them. Whether you're interested in white phosphor or you're just interested in how it can benefit you in home defense, this video will fill in some of the blanks before you make the leap into purchasing your rig.

So I took the bait and followed the Amazon link to the Russian NVG tubes. Well played Mr Lovell, well played.

Wife: Hey honey, did our tax return come in?
Me: (contemplating this whole honesty is the best policy thing)

To everyone saying they are impossibly expensive, just remember that if you own more than 10 guns, and/or more than 5 guns over $1800 you have no room to complain. You can have a good pistol w/ NVG dot, a Carbine w/ Laser and NVG Optic, and a bump helmet with PVS-14 for about $9300, less than most peoples gun collections. Just spend your money smarter and buy quality not quantity

Began video thinking night vision would be a cool investment.

Listened to cost.

Decided to buy new flashlight batteries instead.

Learning NVG indoors is both hilarious and painful at the same time. But high speed driving with them is really just a whole lot of fun.
