Hey Fredrik, thanks for your videos. Love your down to earth, very realistic point of view.

I knew an agency that underpaid people and used age and other factors alike to basically rip them off. Been in the agency for 3weeks, and looking back at it... exploiting people. Funny thing is also that I saw team pic from last year, and new year you have totally different people, hehe.

Guy I know got offered 30k in the US, something like Intership I guess, and other company offered him 70k - such a rip of 50k!

THere is also psychological aspect on how much you get paid.

Doing programming and getting paid minimum wage isn't motivating. Yes, don't do it for money, but it has the same effect psychologically.

Would you feel motivated working as a Junior dev knowing you're a Senior? nope!

Soooo Yeah.

Some businesses business model is to hire underpaid devs, keep them for 1year and that way you have at least a 30% more profit - maybe? At the end the business model and some training is .. like you say.

Whatever :D

Hi, Fredrik!
I'm curious if you still stand by most of what you said in this video regarding how in demand programmers are after these past couple of years. A lot of the videos I watch these days are about people finding it very hard to get a job or perhaps even harder to keep one. Tho' my suspicion is that they're probably the kind of programmers you've talked about in yesterday's video regarding perma junior developers. Thank you

Cheap programmers, worthless output but basically you are referring to good software developers who cheapen themselves. Everyone and their level, a good developer would always save you money, produce better products, perform better maintenance and ensure product quality. I did say a developer that is good and very experienced won't cheapen himself.

No problem finding a job? Until you hit a magic age. Then? Good luck. No matter your skill and experience.
