Disc resurfacer: finally a worthy opponent

The reason why it didn't do much is because that machine is a disc cleaner/buffer and not an actual resurfacer. I work at a used game/movie store and we use those exact same machines (same brand and model and everything). That machine is only really to be used for removing light scratches, dust, fingerprints, etc. It only cleans the disc using the brushes at 0:10 and spreads around a cleaning compound that's pumped through the tubes on the back. Granted those machines can take out small scratches, but for damage that serious, you'd need an actual resurfacer which actually sands down the top layers of plastic and then puts down a completely new layer. Problem is that true resurfacers require a lot of maintenance, are huge, and the one we use at my store costed us like $15k.

I don’t know how someone could possibly do that to their disk. It literally looks like it was given to a fully grown tiger as a scratch toy

Family Video(Midwestern blockbuster) used to have disc resurfacing machines, they would do your disc for free, only 1 per day. The problem is these resurfacing machines do eventually wear the surface down to the point it actually destroys them. It's literally buffing a super thin layer off.

My dad when I was younger taught me to put my games back in my cases always so this didn’t happen! A lot money lost throughout the years on scratched discs 😂

Sometimes people make me laugh i had a friend once that had a disk so scratched it could cut someone and believe it or not it still ran it was weird as hell

They could still try to sand that part of the disc down a bit, starting from 800 grit up to 2000, then polish the disc again to really clear it up.
