Make sure you're doing these things to legally pay less taxes on your 2024 tax return this season!

Last year I did my first taxes with the Tax Shelter and gathered all my receipts, they refused to add my professional development trainings as a deductible arguing they can only add a T1 from a college/University. I sent the invoice through my CRA after filing for taxes and explained that this was the amount I paid for training and examination, it was later added and I got another refund 😢. I'm doing my own taxes with wealthsimple this year.

I’ve doing my own taxes for over 15 years and actually learned something. You’ve earned a sub! Thank you.

I always thought of it as the "return" being what you file, and any amounts received as a result being a "refund."

In 25 minutes you cover more information on personal finance than a Canadian gets in 16 years of government institution education.

The tips on registered investment accounts are gold! I'm definitely looking into an RSP and TFSA now.

April 2 my CPA submitted my 2023 return, and carried capital losses back to 2020 & 2021. Just got that carryback refund on December 18. Saw in bank account, but no Notice of Assessment. But found detail in Payments on My CRA.

The best form of income is "under the table". Paying taxes to this government is non-sensical.

CRA has been LAZY these past 3 years... If I personally complete my tax return, AND I calculate a tax credit...CRA sends a notice of assessment saying "You don't owe anything" WTF... if I use an accountant, I wonder what response I will receive the CRA

It's crazy that a person who owns $55 000 paying 20.5% the same percentage as a person who owns $100 000

I keep my emergency fund in a HISA account . Almost 3k. I don’t think I can save on taxes this year as I started my financial literacy journey only about 3 months ago.

But this video was great information and knowledge. Thank you sir . I’m subscribed

Good video but the company portion into your RRSP is not free money. It is added to your T4 and you pay marginal tax on that

My aunt passed away in 2021. Still waiting for the CRA to sign off.

Honestly, I was on the fence about this presale, but the more I read about Alemio, the more convinced I became. The AI integration is brilliant!

Be careful if you report personal business losses on your personal tax return. If it's small dollars with big expenses CRA can define it as a hobby and disallow the losses. They're only interested in the gains 😜
