Making that delicious Tom Yum Goong or Tomyam Kung, the ever so famous soup of Thai cuisine that's tangy, hot & spicy is surprisingly easy. In this video, Aiman will show you how to cook authentic rich, creamy & aromatic sour delicatessen with exotic herbs to your liking and perfection. วิธีทำต้มยำกุ้งรสเด็ด. Recipe and tutorials on how to prepare are listed below.

Joining us as an entertainment figure during our cooking session with Young Chef Aiman is Romeo, our talking pet parrot. Romeo is an African Grey Congo.

Here are the ingredients, some of which are optional depending on what you like:

- red or yellow onion
- fresh hot chilli pepper, red & green (optional)
- cilantro (also known as coriander leaves i.e. in the United Kingdom)
- kaffir lime leaves
- stalk of lemon grass
- tamarind juice or extract (can be substituted with lime or vinegar, but won't taste authentic)
- blended dried chilli or sambal oelek
- tom yum paste (preferably Thai for the authentic taste)
- chicken
- squids
- shrimp
- carrot
- cauliflower
- napa cabbage
- baby corn
- celery (chinese, italian or regular)
- fresh tomato
- Korean's Enoki mushrooms
- oyster or abalone mushrooms
- straw mushrooms
- salt

Steps How To Prepare:

- Pour water into large pot (at least 6 quarts or larger) about 1/3 of the pot
- Put in onions that have been chopped and bring the water to a boil
- Put in blended chilli or sambal oelek (optional if you really like them hotter and spicier), bring to a boil
- Put in Tom Yum paste about 1/2 to 3/4 bottle into the pot (you can always add more paste later), stir and bring it to a boil
- Put in chicken and bring the mixture to a boil

- Put in lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves, carrot and tamarind juice and bring the soup to a boil
- Add a little salt (maybe a little sugar if you like), and if the taste is still not to your liking, add more salt, tamarind juice or more tomyam paste
- Put in cauliflower, baby corn and mustrooms - oyster or abalone, Korean Enoki & straw mushrooms
- When boil add tomato, shrimp & squid
- After the final boil, simmer and add cilantro or coriander leaves

Cooking is more of an art than science. What's good or perfect for you might not be for others. That's why if you love tomyam, and have been searching far and wide for the perfection, you should try to cook it yourself. You can add these ingredients based on what you prefer until you've reached a point where there's a balance of everything.

You can eat Tom Yum soup by itself just like any other soup, or you can add rice vermicelli or just plain white rice. Aiman will be showing you how to cook rice vermicelli in the future so please check that video out.

On a footnote, most of the hard-to-find ingredients above can be obtained from Indian or Oriental grocery stores. Of course, fresh vegetables can be purchased from your local supermarket or grocery chains but if you want really fresh high-quality produce at reasonable price we strongly suggest chains like Trader Joe's.

Thanks for watching
