OPPOSETHIS Invisible Carry-on Backpack Review

Today we're checking out the ultra-modern, clean, and minimal Invisible Carry-on Backpack by OPPOSETHIS. The main compartment opens like a traditional suitcase, and it expands to 33L to provide you with plenty of room for travel. Can't wait to take my first trip with it.

Disclaimer: I paid for the bag with my own money, at the Kickstarter discount price. OPPOSETHIS is not an affiliate or sponsor.

I don't really have any interest in backpacks.

But somehow I just gained an interest in backpacks. Nice vid RF.

I'm a confirmed one-bag traveler and also bought this bag. I used it for a few trips and have put it on the shelf. There are good things about the bag but the odd shape, the wings that wrap around for the compression straps and the large size makes it not the bag for me. Those floppy wings on the side provide no real use except an attachment point for the compression straps. The straps have fiddly connectors that are irritating to have to use - you can leave the bottom (away from the grab handle) one connected but to open the main compartment you need to fiddle with the other one. You can't leave it unconnected to the attachment point or the triangular wing on that side flops around or sticks out.

The bag has some cool features - some good dedicated pockets for instance, but it is too large. I never pack what was shown in the video - how many shirts do you need? As you said, you can always do laundry.

I'm back to my Minaal Daily for short 2 or 3 day trips and my Tom Bihn Western Flyer for anything longer. Both provide the capacity needed but in a more streamlined form factor. Features like Bihn's hideaway straps should be on the Oppose backpack. All of them can fit under the seat in just about any airplane but the egg shape of the Oppose cuts into room for your feet on the sides of the bag - the more rectilinear bags leave a bit of space on the sides to slide my feet under the seat in front too.

I appreciate the craftsmanship of this bag but it's just not for me.

A learning curve for a bag. What a world! Seems like a company doing things right. Cheers for the review.

Handles are the most underrated part of the bag.

"That gives you an extra 5" right there."

I had a larger version of that back in the 90's (full backpack with internal aluminum bar frame). Really liked it. Eventually the zippers fail.

Is it just me, or do you seem more upbeat and confident in this review. Honestly inspiring me to do the same.
