The leadership election vote was unfair. It allowed MPs to tactically vote out opposition candidates they felt fearful of. This would have been a better system:
1) If the candidate you vote for does not get eliminated, your vote stands and you cannot change your vote.
2) If the candidate you vote for does get eliminated, you get to vote for your next favourite candidate until they too get eliminated.
3) By doing this, people stick to their vote, vote their conscience and cannot vote tactically.
