Who is faster? Gravitational Illusions 10 x longer - Not expected result ❤️ C4D4U

Which ball will win over the longer distance? I didn't expect this result. In retrospect, though, it really makes sense. Did you expect this?
Many have asked in the comments for a longer route. That's the reason why I made this video with a 10 times longer distance. I had assumed that the ball would get faster and faster on the wave track and eventually fly out the top. I then wanted to create some kind of wall at the end of the track where the ball can bounce off. Unfortunately I had to realize that the track could have been much shorter. That's how you can be wrong.
This is of course only a computer simulation, but I suspect that it corresponds to reality. Maybe someone should rebuild it for real.
To better understand the reason for the result I created a slow motion version at the end of the video. Here you can see very well why all this happens.
Through this animation I have learned something again.

Relax and enjoy this video.
ASMR for my eyes. Some people make it happy and satisfied. It also has a calming effect.

ASMR = Autonomous sensory meridian response

MUSIC-MODE ;)
Why don't I enter the music title anymore.
Well, unfortunately some people not only copy my animations (because they have no ideas of their own) but even use exactly the same music.
These people may now search for it themselves ;)
I hope for your understanding.

That's what I expected. But if the ball on the curves didn't leave the ground (if the track was magnetic or something), I'm pretty sure the curved one would keep on getting a bigger and bigger lead indefinitely. Or as okguy167 says, make the curves progresively longer so that it stays on the ground. That might take away from the accelration boost though, depending on how it's done...

If you think about it, in real life, the one going up and down is induced through friction and needs to expend potential energy as it drops while the one going straight down simply expends all its potential energy as it goes down.

It could be the bumpy one, because the bumps could act like ramps and propel the ball way forward, but at the same time they could also get in the way? 🤔 tough decision

1st squash ball roll on plain floor where friction is comparatively low to 2nd and due to uniform path, its acceleration remains same till its X point.

In the case of 2nd squash ball, its acceleration boosted up as phenomenon of rolling friction took place here and after a few rolls, it bumped to surface where its speed went down and it deviate from rectilinear path .Thus, 1st squash covers more distance than 2nd.

To throw in a word you can google up: The "wave" consists of (near) brachistochrone curves. That's the term for a the ideal curve where a constant, vertical force (like gravity) will result in the quickest movement from A to B.

The slow one is the most loved by everyone, the speed doesn't matter but the important is art, and the slow one is like an art, and it's beautifil.

These textures are great and the lighting is really good too.

I’m in AP physics right now and the only thing I know for sure is the ball on the left will peak at 9.8 M/S

I am very wrong please do not listen to me

The big mystery: what is the thing that is reflected by the marble?

Has the same experiment been tried in a vacuum? As there is far greater air resistance demonstrated in the wavy line and that comes into question because even the traction of the ball is lost in places which is affecting the performance of the ball as the air then works as air brakes and even you can see collisions as the ball leaves the track. Which destroys the flow of momentum which it then has to regain in order to pick up optimal speed once more.

The straight line angled downward is only performing what it would do as each of the variables are all a given.

As a fun experiment its interesting as it does highlight a number of issues, but then it would be more about what would you hope to achieve here, if anything other than a wild guess at which one will get there first.

Here the higher velocity of ball 1 + acceleration is helping
As periodic increase in velocity of ball two is less at larger distance so the first ball surpasses

The ball on the right side: I will beat you
The ball on the left side: bye bye
The ball on the right side: what the?

Now that I've watched it, I wonder if the result would be different if you made the curves longer the father you went down

I knew this would happen! The ball going up and down can only carry so much momentum regardless of how many times it goes up and down or how long the track is. The other ball, however, is able to reach terminal velocity because there’s nothing in the way of its momentum build up. Therefore the other ball wins in the long run and the ball going up and down always falls short due to its limitation on momentum.

OK great I'm happy cause in the other video I said that if it was longer or infinite the result would be the opposite. Thanks a lot for doing this 10x vid

Woah my theory about losing the velocity was correct!
