Who are your clients? Corporate events involve working with business professionals and event planning teams in a business environment. Weddings on the other hand require interacting with wedding couples and families. And this is the key difference. The personal element makes it emotionally demanding, as well as exhilarating.

What are your clients goals? Corporate events are designed to meet business needs, and are a means to larger business objectives. Weddings are about creating emotionally memorable experiences for the wedding couple. Something that will last them a lifetime.

What are the catering needs? Though catering is an essential element of a corporate event, most corporate customers are satisfied with a convenient menu that meets their certain criteria. In a wedding, the menu must be impeccable, requires attention to detail for every element from the menu, to wedding cake and beverages. Wedding planners need a significant effort in deciding the menu, dining layout, seating arrangements and more.

How will the budget be managed? Corporate budgets tend to be larger, flexible and well financed. Weddings are paid for by individuals or families themselves, and this places constraints on how these costs are managed.

What are the emotional considerations? The final and perhaps most important difference is that weddings are a once-in-a-lifetime event. Weddings can be incredibly emotional and stressful. There are no second chances. A poorly executed wedding can cause stress and disappointment. On the other hand a perfectly executed wedding leaves memories that everyone can cherish over a lifetime.
