The Chinese High-Powered Slingshot Gun!!!

True, those so called slingshot rifles are badly designed and not recommended. There is so much more destruction potential in a well made sling-x-bow… I could show you the features.

Here are a few things you need to know about slingshot "guns".
First, rubber is slow. You won't ever significantly exceed maybe 200 fps with a slingshot gun. So forget small, lightweight ammo.
Second, rubber is really good to accelerate very heavy ammo that can be very destructive at 200 fps.
Third, Chinese tubular rubber sucks. If you want power, you need flat bands, cut in a tapered way (thinner at the back and thicker at the front).
Fourth, a slingshot gun is basically a crossbow. If you want a powerful crossbow, you need AT LEAST 150 lbs - ideally more like 250 lbs of draw weight. That is A LOT OF rubber and you need a winch or a rope cocking aid.
Fifth, for true destruction, you need to shoot heavy bolts (or arrows) instead of round, blunt balls. The sharp steel tips and the heavy weight will really cause damage.
Conclusion: You CAN make a rubber powered crossbow that rivals really powerful recurve crossbows. You can NOT make a rubber powered "gun" that rivals firearms in terms of shot energy and bullet speed. But that gel turkey you got, I can take a rubber powered crossbow send a bolt all the way through it OR hit it with a fat steel ball that will lift it clear of your table.

Joerg from the Slingshot Channel invented this I think. It's based on his repeating crossbows, compound bows and slingshots. He's German and his channel is awesome. He REALLY needs to do a collaboration with Matt next time he's in the States. Or he could come over just to collaborate. He's the mad scientist of weaponry.

Own a Chinese slingshot for home defense, since that's what the great leader intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "什麼鬼" As I grab my panda express and sketchy slingshot. fire bb's at the and put a small bruise on first man, he's confused on the spot. Draw my handheld slingshot on the second man, miss him entirely because it's a singly rubber band and nails the neighbors one child. I have to resort to the mega slingshot mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with washers, "找到目標!" the washers bounce off two men in the blast, the rubber bands fly off and set off car alarms. Load fishing weight and fix resistance bands and charge the last terrified rapscallion. It penetrates an inch and makes the ruffian mad. Just as the great leader intended.

We love you too Matt 😂. I was out shooting cans with my slingshot the other day. I hit the first can with my first shot and I thought "maybe I haven't lost it", then I went to shoot the second after missing with 15 bearings I quickly realised how rusty I had gotten.
