The tool in question is a Makita Cordless Driver Drill. Unlike a traditional drill, this one is designed to cause a "bumping" effect once a screw is starting to meet significant resistance going into a material. Not quite designed for what we need on "Osu!".
It has an RPM of (up to) 1500, but the game was only clocking an unsteady 470-475. The game's limit is 477. Not too bad!
In the future, I would recommend a table-mounted drill press. All you need to do is mount the pen to the teeth of the bit holder and flip a switch when needed!
