Why Kanye West WON'T Attend The 2018 MET Gala With Kim Kardashian

It looks like Kim Kardashian will be without a date at the Met Gala, according to reports that her husband, Kanye West, is skipping all of the festivities tonight.

The Met Gala is undoubtedly the biggest, most-talked about night in fashion… Where celebrities get to be as extra as humanly possible in out of control outfits and gowns and we’re actually obsessed with all of it, because fashion. Duh. And it seems like the celebs really enjoy it as much as we do, because fashion. Duh.

One of those excited AF celebs is Kim Kardashian. In fact, we’re pretty sure she’s been ready for The Met Gala tonight since 3 minutes after the Met Gala last year. Kim showed her excitement on her app by sharing how she’s been prepping for the carpet, saying:

"The Met Gala never disappoints. I've been prepping for this year's with a cleanse and by working out really hard. I'm so excited to go! It’s always an over-the-top night."

But while we know that Kim will absolutely be at the Gala tonight, wearing something that’s probably going to make us all a little emotional, we’re not sure we can say the same for her husband, Kanye West.

According to US Weekly, Kanye will not be attending, with a source telling the mag QUOTE ““Kanye is definitely not going.”

After being caught up in some major controversy regarding his recent statements online and in TMZ interviews, we shouldn’t really be too surprised that Kanye would be keeping a low profile, but there’s actually so much more to why Ye would skip out on the event. He’s got an album to finish, hello?

A second source revealed to US Weekly that QUOTE “One minute he says that he will go. Another, he insists that the album needs more work.”

Now, if this is the case, we’re sure Kimmy won’t be too upset, but the source did add QUOTE “Kim just wants to go to the gala and have a great time.”

But who knows? Kanye may still show up to escort his lady down the carpet. We’re really just here for Kim’s dress, let’s be real. We remember the infamous sofa dress like it was yesterday… unfortunately. Something tells me we won’t be wearing upholstery tonight.
