Apathy is all I have left for the MCU.

Marvel should’ve put the MCU on ice for a few years after Endgame brought it back with moderately budgeted, smaller movies to build up a new story arc. Of course corporate was never going to let that happen though.

The moment I realized, I'm done with the MCU was when I started watching videos like yours with spoiler warnings and didn't care at all about the spoilers

These modern MCU movies are taking back to the "All new, All different" Marvel comics days and I'm having PTSD remembering that slop.

When they decided to tell the audience that Captain Marvel was the strongest Avenger rather than letting fans -argue- debate about it was a tipping point in the studio's relationship with the fans.

How come the CGI in 2008's IronMan looks better than Disney's CGI in 2025?
Edit: just watched a video called “when the director is an expert in CGI” about John Fraveau’s movies, specially the first IronMan. Well worth the watch.

the biggest reason this character arc doesn't work, is because Bucky should have been given the mantle of Captain America- he has a longer history with Steve Rogers, and is "also" a super-soldier (it just doesn't make any sense for Sam Wilson to be squaring off against an, "enormous "red" rage monster" as a "regular" human-being, just because he has some tech on his side...)...

It's hard to forget that "Godzilla minus one" was made for $15 million. I'm done with Marvel and Star Wars but I'm still hoping somebody pulls Star Trek out of the dumpster.

They could have made a falcon movie instead of erasing Steve Rogers

I think it all boils down to bad writing. Hollywood cannot write anything anymore. Today’s writers, ensconced in LA culture, knows nothing about the “real world.” How things work or how people speak to each other. And they have zero imagination; instead of describing anything, they sit two characters down and they tell each other everything! Shut it all down. All of it.

Let's not forget what Anthony Mackie said:

"Captain America represents a lot of different things, and I don't think the term 'America' should be one of those representations."

A Hulk (Red) film without Hulk (Green) or even Bruce Banner investigating what's going on. A war between America and Japan...really?

As "likeable" as Mackie is as Sam Wilson he's still stuck in a Captain America movie without Captain America. And a plot where the US is fighting the non-existent 21st century Japanese navy - the pander stone is strong in this one!

They made 4 different films with rewrites and reshoots and recasting so eventually there will be 4 different movies and we can see which "current thing" political narrative each one followed as the Disney world evolved during the filming.

Harrison Ford couldn’t even be bothered in going to the premier, cause it stunk so badly. He obviously doesn’t give a damn about his legacy at this point, just dollar signs

They wasted Isiah Bradley and Betty. Sam should have got his ass kicked by the Hulk and Isiah have should been sprung out of prison to save his ass, then Isaiah should of got his ass kicked. Finally Betty should have come in right at the last second before they both get crushed by the Hulk and calm the Hulk back into Ross. That would have given Isiah, Betty and Ross a more complete story arc and allow Isiah to be redeemed as a super soldier.

i'm an old guy - REALLY OLD.
I've collected comic books all of my life and I am also a voracious reader.
Marvel Studios HAS NOT "run the gambit of ALL SUPERHERO STORIES". This is not true.
They have simply run the gambit on their limited abilities in writing.
They NEED GOOD WRITERS which they do not have.

"There's no shame in it, Raziel - revenge is motivation enough. At least it's honest. Hate me, but do it honestly." - Kain.
The villain's motivation is the least of this movie's problems.

The most powerful villain the MCU has produced is apathy.
