I can say this channel has single handedly swayed me from a big pianist standpoint, to a new guitar player, and a year later playing the guitar better than some friends who have been playing for years.... you need to make a playlist that progresses from beginner level videos to you more complex ones for newcomers. Previously understanding piano on a complex level, you helped bridge the gap seamlessly. just wanna say thanks for all the cool tricks you've shared!

JT is such an underappreciated guitarist by too many! Such a gift to the world, we've been so lucky to have him.

25+ years Guitar player here ... and i'm still able to learn some new stuff with every vid you put out. Thank you Paul for all the hard work you obviously put in these. For me you are one of the most valuable Guitar Channels on Youtube <3 ... Level 12 is insanly Jobim and I love it <3

The more complex and "jazzy" your versions become, to me the more they sound like Bossa Nova - the sound that Antonio Jobim made popular. Thanks for demonstrating!

I think Level 4 is my favorite in this case. Simple but interesting enough, with that nice descending major scale thrown in.

The chord progression captures the tone of the whole song, which is why it sits so well with the monotone part of the melody. Love the final chords. The video helps to put the music theory into the real world of a well known song. Was that Microsoft Sam on vocals standing in for JT?

That is why JT is a Master composer and a chord wizard! Thanks for this valuable lesson which clearly shows the how and why behind this progression.

I love these chords videos, it makes what is complicated at first seem fun and exciting!

Famous brasilian composer and artist A. Jobim, composed, "O note samba".
There is similarity with this. Jazzy stuff!

For a broke guy like me who can't afford real or online lessons, Paul Davids has helped me so much and taught me things that, without him, I would never know existed. And the production quality is top notch!

Bravo! I appreciate that you managed to traverse the chord sub landscape without getting bogged down in the technical swamp. And, as always, loving your guitar mastery and hopeful spirit. Peace and admiration from NorCal!

This is the typical James Taylor type progression - trying to capture your "ear curiosity" and hold onto it. Relaxed rhythm. Meant to be ponderous and contemplative.

It's awesome like everytime I see a new video I always come out with something more to learn, Thanks Paul.

Love level 12 as it’s so interesting underneath that single note vocal line. Those level 12 transitions are so smooth and even though ‘complex’, seem much more natural compared to the abruptness of level 1. The complexity makes it sound unique too. Thanks for the great lesson!

James Taylor is a legend! Not enough people of my generation and younger know about him, but I was lucky enough to have grown up in a house where his music was played.

Paul - this is the best video I have ever seen to build up the construction of chord progression and how to start from the basics and build up to JT level. Your videos are always exceptional, but this is in a league of it’s own with regards to content. Even if someone doesn’t know the music theory behind it, they can follow the sound and feel as you build it up. I had a blast with it this morning over coffee!

That's what i was looking for, currently writing some post-rock riffs and i wanted to get better at writing chord progressions. Thank you Paul!

It took me 3 nights of learning to absorb all the information presented here. It's better than those one-hour long music theory video.
