I did first through 5th grade in lake Elsinore roundabouts 1961 to 66, population was 3, 000 at the time, my dad was a cop and we own the taxi business in town and on Saturday my mother would deliver the mail through Marietta, Temecula Fallbrook, Wildomar and Elsinore, so the mail person could have two days off. Postage stamp for 2 cents, I stood on the bridge at the far end of Railroad avenue now Lakeshore and watch the Colorado River trickle its way down to fill lake Elsinore. We used to drive through the dry bed across the lake from town to the first Baptist Church. I have very fond memories and when I visit lake Elsinore I can hear my parents voices. It snowed at lake Elsinore elementary School in about 1964 myself and my siblings were there. We would roller skate down at the edge of the lake on a cement slab with a chicken wire fence around it to sugar pie Honey bun. Good good times.

I am a resident of Lake Elsinore and have been living in Elsinore for 9 years and when I moved here I had no idea what the city was about. Coming from the the LA area yes it was more affordable to buy. The city has its pros and cons like mentioned above. But for those who criticize Elsinore so much of being bad or it sucks. Every city has its good and bad. Unfortunately in the areas of main st and grand which is close to the lake it is not the prettiest to look at.
But if you go to north lake Elsinore in the areas of McVicker and Alberhill those are nice areas as well as Canyon and Tuscany hills. Yes the public education is average. But if the parent and teacher work together your child will become successful and be whatever they want to be. And if you don’t want to have them in public education then put them in a private school.

All I’m saying is don’t bash a city just because you see some areas that are not the prettiest. But remember almost every city has there good and bad areas. It is more noticeable in Lake Elsinore because the city is not as big as Temecula, Murrieta and so forth.

And yes there are friendly people in Elsinore as well as there are those who are mean too but then again you will find people with various emotions all over the IE, OC, San Diego and LA.

What I love about this city or at least where I live is that it is very quiet, peaceful and I’m lucky to have great neighbors.

Great video! You missed the most important Pro: The people. So many nice people in the community. I lived here for 12 years and I loved it.

It’s (Relatively) affordable for a reason…. Because of the cons such as crime etc, it is less desirable than most of the surrounding cities. Outdoor Pro’s in addition to all the boating/jet skiing etc activities of the Lake and the motorcycle track and skydiving is….. HANG GLIDING and SAILPLANE flying. Lake Elsinore is actually world famous within the soaring communities for great conditions for flying Sailplanes, Hang Gliders and Paragliding. I have flown there for up to 8 hours in ridge lift along the Ortega’s in ridge lift and as high as 18, 000 feet…. Both WITHOUT an engine as well as flying a HG after foot launching “the E” and landing nearly 50 miles away in Palm Springs. Also, when there is no traffic, you can drive in Less Than 90 minutes to either Down town LA or Beverly Hills/Westside, the South-bay Beach areas, San Diego, the Mexican Border, Palm Springs, Big Bear, pretty much most of Southern California sites and attractions. You are less than 30 minutes to beaches and surfing Dana point and Laguna areas, and less than 90 minutes from Snow skiing Mount Baldy and Big Bear. Biggest down side to Lake Elsinore is that it is in a state complete controlled by a political party that is…… completely INSANE.

Been there many times as an avid skydiver. The traffic there can be very busy on the 15. Other than that, it is a really pretty city with a Latin flair, great scenery, and plenty of outdoorsy activities to do.

For the money, Lake Elsinore is overall a good bang for your buck in comparison to other CA cities at the same price range.

The city is planning to put a Pier on the lake and upgrade Main Street. They are working on cleaning up the city and making it a nicer place to live and visit.

I'm more concerned about the crime rate when I move to different cities. I may move here couple months. How is the crime rate?

Thanks my friend. I’m considering coming for a month in my RV so I can visit the neighboring places you mentioned. 😎

So basically, since I'm remote and have no kids, Lake Elsinore is perfect?

It's incredibly haunted on the lake side. Lived there for 3 years and absolutely hated it. Lol.

Stop telling people about LE. Tell them to move to Murrieta and screw that town up instead.
