💲 NEED FINANCIAL ADVICE? 💲
1) Google "fee-only financial adviser" or visit www.NAPFA.org (largest association of fee-only financial advisers). NOT an affiliate link
2) The first question to ask any financial adviser is, "Are you a fiduciary to me 100% of the time". Get the answer in writing
3) Please note that some people call themselves "fee-based". This is NOT the same as fee-only. Fee-only advisers have committed to being fiduciary to you 100% of the time.
4) Personally, I would only hire an adviser who is a fiduciary to me 100% of the time. This is not a suggestion on what you should do. Just sharing my personal preference.

⚠️ Azul's "Scammer" Warning ➡ PLEASE READ! ⚠️
Be careful of scammers. In the comments section, I will NEVER ask you to contact me, offer any investment products, recommend a stock broker, or anything similar. Some scam bot commenters 'ask' for investment help, and later, other comment bots reply with "how great X idea/investment/person is" in the replies. These are scam threads. Do not fall for them.

🚨 Azul's VIDEOS ARE NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE (Disclaimer) 🚨

The decisions on how to invest, when to retire, and other financial planning topics are some of the most important financial decisions you will make in your life. I urge you to seek professional financial advice as you make this decision. Ideally, from a financial adviser, AND a CPA AND an attorney. Having the perspective of all three professions will help you make the right decision for you and your family.

This information is being presented without consideration of the investment objectives, risk tolerance, or financial circumstances of any specific investor and may NOT be suitable for all investors.

This information is NOT intended to, and should NOT, form a primary basis for any investment decision that you may make. Always consult your own legal, tax, and/or investment advisor before making any investment/tax/estate/financial planning considerations or decisions.

Spoiler Alert: There are no "get rich" programs. Rather, just basic blocking & tackling and putting in time and care. Do your homework, choose wisely and (IMHO) work with experienced professionals who are fiduciary to you 100% of the time.

I just turned 58. I’ve decided that in twelve months I will resign from my job. The stress is not conducive to health and the lack of free time is not conducive to making health my number one priority. Thanks for sharing Azul.

Am 58 retiring next year but the thought of retirement gives me weakness. My apologies to everyone who have retired and filing social security during this time after putting in all those years of work just to lose everything to a problem you never imagined to happen. It’s so difficult for people who are retired and have no savings or loved ones to fall back on.

I retired 6 months ago at 59. I’m a volunteer Firefighter and a recent grandfather and that’s where I’m investing my time, beyond travel. My reasons were 100% due to health concerns in 5, 10 and 15 years. I have friends who have enough to retire now but are concerned about being bored. I think if you have plenty of hobbies, interests and volunteer opportunities, it’s too risky to wait.

I retired at 59 almost 10 years ago. We travel almost 6 months a year. We just hit 90 countries. Best decision we made was retiring.

It is fantastic to have daily doses of motivation to continue to strive towards those early retirement goals. Thank you.

I'm 52 and my wife is 51 and we are retiring in the next six months. We've saved a very nice nest egg but what prompted us to do this was losing my mother-in-law earlier this month while we were on vacation in Germany and the money that she left us puts us way over what we need to live out our days. We have a two-year plan of staying in Texas and then relocating to Europe for a change of pace. While my mother-in-law was 78 years old, she was very healthy but passed suddenly, so you never know when your time is up.

I left "retirement" word out of my vocabulary and attached it to do the things i want for as long as i live. I focused on being healthy, being a trainer to help others like myself. I love working with younger people and volunteering. That's retirement to me.

I'm an avid subscriber of your channel. I retired 15 years ago at age 55 with a pension but continued my job working 2 days per week while collecting my pension. That enabled my wife to retire early from her government job in order to care for her 92 year old mother. We both have a pension and supplemental retirement accounts. Helped relieve the work stress for both of us. At the time I was a volunteer driver for cancer patients through the American Cancer Society until COVID and unfortunately the program has not resumed in my area.
Even though I'm retired I find your knowledge helpful as I progress through retirement. I've read Die With Zero and plan to begin implementing some of the thought.
We didn't have grandchildren until 6 years ago and it's nice to have the freedom to spend time with them and attend their daycare and school functions.
We bought an antique Beitish sports car almost 3 years ago which keeps me busy and we both love taking trips in for lunch or British car shows.
We began attending free daytime Senior Sock Hops twice a month in 2024.

Retirement has been great, so glad we retired early!

It’s imperative to have hobbies in retirement. My parents retired and all they do is stay home and fight. They are in their 70s and both just rotting away.

I am 55. I have worked in the Petrochemical industry all my working life. I’m getting out at 59. I have too many friends that have retired and passed away a short time after. Several have been diagnosed with cancer. We have sold our health. It’s time to enjoy it while we can.

I’m retiring in 3 years at the age of 50. My husband will be 57. He has been semi retired for about 4 years already: self employed.

People who are able to retire early are lucky . I have 15 months till 65 and need to look at calling it quits, my only fear is running out of funds much later, thus keen on investing. What could be the safest possible ways to invest for cashflow, in order to afford lifestyle after retirement?

Been retired 8 years. Hung it up at 52 and travelled extensively. Glad I did as my health continues to worsen with the years now.

I'm hoping to retire next year at 55. My goal next year is to be more serious and consistent with my investments I've been investing since I was 22. 2025 is going to be more serous for me investing consistently for the long term. starting to save for a house down payment. I want to invest more than $105k, but I'm not sure on how to mitigate risk.

Congrats on the retirement Azul. I've been a follower of your channel for sometime, am 59.5 and like to retire at 60. That being said, every other day it's a debate.
Have worked since 86, 2 careers later, 4 kids, a degree, etc.. Like many, I still not sure I deserve the right to retire.
What I do know is that one health can take an unexpected 180 and I don't want to miss the next chapter if I don't hang up the work gloves soon.
