Straight hair still adapts to it's surroundings. If someone has a straight hair that they put behind their ears, the hair will naturally stay in that shape to some degree.
If there's anything in the way of the hair, it should adapt and bend around it in the drawing.

Straight hair doesn’t work like that, as much as it moves it stays in shape a straight line
I have a1 hair and I can confirm that

personally, my naturally straight hair has curves at the ends and then also according to how it falls over my body/how I put it up

when I have my hair up for a while then put it down, there's a weird little wave that goes around where my neck is

and when I slouch for a while, the wave appears around where my shoulders and back are

and because I have a great personality, when I have my hair in front for a while, the wave also appears there lmao

of course, this changes for everyone and isnt the goal when your hair is straightened (w heat), but that's what i've noticed

For me my reference for house straight hair looks is my own hair cuz I have very long hair. But I also think it's sometimes fun to draw characters whose hair kind of looks like a mess because I know for a fact that if left out in a braid for more than an hour while dry, my hair will turn into a puff ball
