How a professional guitar tech playtests a setup

My Morgan Mahogany Live is definitely one of the best acoustics I've ever owned right out of the box. So glad I saw a video on it and ordered it the same day! If I had to be limited to just one guitar that would be my pick out of 22. From the Marketing, inspection, quality, value, packaging, playability and sound ...Orangewood is doing it right...when you open the box... You'll be impressed.

Temperature and humidity does not affect the truss rod. They affect the wood. Hotter and more humid temps cause the wood to expand which causes the action to go high, while colder temps cause the action to go low. As a person that lives in a state with very hot summers and very cold winters, I know this. Unfortunately the Truss rod will not always save you when it comes to playability. You guys are setting up your guitars in the current environment youre at. Once the guitar is in a different climate, the set up will change, and the guitar will need to be set up all over again.

When I bought my Hudson a year and a half ago, the action was way to low, and 2 of the frets were unlevel. I took it to a guitar tech and he had to do an entire fret leveling and also put in a new saddle. Even after the fret leveling the action was to low and strings would buzz when I used a capo. So the new saddle brought the action up to .080 on the bass side, and .070 on the treble side. With the action when I received it, it was .045 on the bass side, and .040 on the treble side. Played like butter, but way too much buzz. My Hudson plays great now.

Just bought a orange wood Rey and the action is a little to low so there’s some buzzing going on with the top string but other then that I would say it’s a solid guitar but now I gotta figure out how to adjust the trust rod lol

I have the Austen and the Morgan live. The Austen came out beautiful and ready to play. The Morgan, however, has fret but on just the D string from frets 7-11. Makes me sad. But still great guitars and shoot way above price point

That is not how a profession checks for bad frets. Do I have to teach your professionals? Temperature and humidity has little to do with a high, low, or bad level on a fret...if it was done correctly to begin with. The scourge of a cheap overseas guitar. (And some expensive ones) You buy sight unseen and your chances go up for problems. I don't trust you people. When you rush through testing for buzzes you are not doing the customer justice.
