UK Visitor Visa Thailand: General Information

Before traveling to the United Kingdom, an entry clearance or UK Visitor Visa is needed if you are from a country which requires a UK visa. UK Visitor Visas are granted to visitors for six months and may be valid for a single or multiple entries.

You can travel to the UK as a visitor if you:
❖ are genuinely seeking entry for not more than six months as a visitor,
❖ intends to leave at the end of his visit,
❖ do not intend to take employment paid or unpaid, or to produce goods or provide services,
❖ do not sell goods or services direct to the public, during the visit,
❖ do not intend to study at a publicly funded school,
❖ can be maintained and accommodated without recourse to public funds, and
❖ show proof that you are able to meet the costs of their onward journey.

When applying for a UK Visitor Visa, applicants should note that:
❖ Your UK visitor visa will not make it possible to marry with in the UK,
❖ Even if you plan to stay for just ‘one month’ the Embassy will still normally issue a six month visa.
❖ There is no right of appeal for a Visitor visa refusal but there is a right of appeal if the visa is to see a close family member
