Just a quick correction, just so there is less confusion about it. Prepared Spells in BG3, at least in EA, can‘t just be swapped out during rests, but anytime outside of combat, so when you know you‘re gonna be talking so Someone you can swap in „Charm Person“ and swap it out for something useful in Combat afterwards.

I’m feeling the Druid/barbarian. Bear rage sounds pretty great.

I've REALLY been enjoying my druid player character. Flexibility is such an important strength in a game that's constantly giving you ability checks and environmental challenges. Being able to scout areas as a cat and squeeze into small spaces is tons of fun. Access to long jumping, flight, a lot of area/control spells really let you manipulate most fights. Spikes can cheese like half of the battles in Act 1.

Have watched this, the sorcerer and warlock video and its been a massive help. I played as a rogue in a Tabletop DnD campaign but have no idea about other classes. Wanted to go spellcaster this time around and i now face a common problem where i love aspects of Druid, Sorcerer and Warlock making this choice so hard. Will be playing with 3 friends so need to have decided over the next few days. Whatever i choose i cannot wait to dive in BG3.

Can't wait for my evil playthrough as a deurgar Circle of Spores druid with the Dark Urge that just wants to watch the world decay.

Prepared spells in BG3 dont need a long rest to swap. You can just do it outside of combat. Essentially, you can use whatever spell you have access to in non combat situations

Druid is the class (along with paladin) that I know the least about just from it being not chosen at my table and me not being into them, BUT I have seen some silly melee builds with spore druid in the min max groups I follow and it is tempting to give that a go at some point. Moon is interesting in BG 3, and one that I thing has gotten some of the most changes from it's tabletop version. From somewhere around 2 or 3 to like 5 or 6 are literally unkillable monsters who destroy everything in their path, dropping off hard as a campaign goes on, but from what I've seen in EA they seemed to be smoothed over in the early levels, so I hope that it scales better into late game than it's tabletop version as well.

Decided I’m going to play a lolth sworn drow druid that’s circle of land with the underdark spells. I’m roleplaying her as a circle of spider druid even though it’s not in the game by only transforming into a spider and I’m also going to take the feat that gives me the find familiar spell so I can have a pet spider too. I cannot wait until next weekend when the ps5 version is out

Circle of spores Druid also can wildshape into bear form.
Only the Circle of land Druid has no access to bear form and is also limited by not having combat wild shape (takes a bonus action to transform) and has to use an action to wild shape.

how does a wild shape focused Druid scale their power as they continue leveling? if their wild shape takes on the stats of their chosen beast form, dont get any AC from your gear, and they can’t cast spells, wouldn’t a level 2 Druid that is wild shaped feel the same as a level 12 Druid?

I'm planning a gnome druid. I really want the sage background but folk hero sounds like it works better with the build. I need to hear play the way you want lol

I just completed the game last night. Land Druid is amazing. My character was a vengeance paladin. I had a fighter doing dual wield, land Druid, light cleric. Second play through gonna play a monk/thief and experiment with everything else.

Not to burst any bubbles, but the owlbear wildshape in that trailer was a land druid lol. You could tell because it had natural recovery charges on the UI.

Hey there...got several muticlassing ideas I find interesting because of a highly paradoxal base for my character due to their personal history and conflicts:
A dragonborn dark urge but chaotic good, doing everything he can to refute his murderous instincts.
So, for instance, with a base of bard, for the "lightness", but also poetry and support to his party, but not without fighting skills (college of valor), but also a love for the balance he lacks, and a love for Nature more than any deities (again, probable personal history and background..)
So, a mostly bard with maybe some Druid ( dipping 3 levels?), Monk serms a really bad idea- but I liked it...or maybe rogue, to increase/reinforce some "Jack of All Trades" traits..?

Almost all of my ideas are ...not recommended in the meta (but also, usually there's such a focus on tanky/deadly builds, often at the detriment of story telling...), So.. find any of my ideas interesting, or are they all just purely detrimental?

Why not a Bard, but also stealthy when necessary, for instance in the form of a cat or a spider, able to spy on enemies for the benefits of the group?

Also, seems Darkvision for a dragonborn will be useful...

Awesome explanation.
I am a little confused why no animal companion like ranger, and I didn’t see animals/insects summoning?

my guess is that arctic makes you able to not slip on ice, maybe even grease. More steady on your feet as a land druid. Mountain might make it cost less movement to move vertically?
