AMAZING VIEW OF TANKER IN A LOCK

Watch the Oil / Chemical Tanker Damia Desgagnés enter Lock 7 of the Welland Canal from up above and watch her raise up and exit from a time-lapse. Wonderful coverage of this vessel's transition through lock 7

Note: I had a very hard time pronouncing the name of this ship.

It is cool to see them scrape their way along the wall like that. In case you get any more Desgagnes ships later, it's pronounced day-gan-yay!

Light ship, possibly bound for Sarnia to load.

Thanks for great video - full of interest. I've long been puzzled about the standard Welland Canal method of approaching locks by scraping along the dock wall - surprised that they do it, and then surprised that they don't weld beefy sacrificial strips of metal to protect the hull. They have some protection but not nearly enough IMHO. Thanks again!
